Today may have been the final school drop off with the cargo bike. The older kid rode his own bike all year, and the younger one may be moving to a new school that's a bit out of range for the bike. Finished mending a bag today.
It's an original late 90s messenger bag which has seen 6 continents, the Arctic and the Subantarctic... And countless countries with me.
It took 8 washes to get it clean enough for the washing machine, washing out decades of accumulated dust from around the world, and memories from another life.
Then a few hours of mending torn places. Ready for the next 25 years.

I found this heartwarming story while reading more about its illustrator Joseph Bennett on the web. He‘s one of the creators of HBO’s Scavengers Reign and Adult Swim’s Common Side Effects and I really dig his drawing style.
