I haven't read this much bollocks in a long, long time.
@kev
You're right.
I'm writing.
I'm writing for me.
I also have crafted my own tool and way of working: Emacs, with Org Mode, a simple CSS and the embedded publishing function to create a few HTMLs that are not even a blog, but more a so-called digital garden.
Who read that? Dunno. Don't care.
If someone reads it and thinks it's useful I'm happy.
But I'm writing for me, to fix my ideas, my needs, to create my own brain extension, to keep track of interesting things I learn.
No for traffic.
@kev Dang there are some bold statements that are far fetched and not understanding the reality.
@kev I envy this person. I too would like to be living in 2012 but have the technology to send my various thoughts to the present day.
@kev Meh, my blog is for me to write, not for discoverability. I don't even have a view counter. When I write something, I'm not sure if a million people read it, or just me. More than likely, just me. Frankly, that's fine. I mean, it would be nice if a couple people read it, but even if they don't I'm still going to write it.
@kev Whenever I stumble upon a niche blog with wonky font and a design for an acquired taste, it gives me joy. They leave their personal footprint in the world and I appreciate that.
I want more of that *lo-fi* content creation. When you don't write for views and clicks, it shows. And it's refreshing.
Self-host your blog on a potato, for all I care. It should make _you_ happy! And if it's relevant for me, I'll find it, Wordpress or not.
@kev The content is rubbish indeed.
The form is questionable.
One line per sentence feels like a LinkedIn post.
I should be reading a piece of writing.
Instead, I am reading a series of statements.
Punchline writing.
-- sigh --
The form is rubbish, actually.
@kev the whole site was deleted now, welp
