In this #devlog I discuss some bugs with rendering ordering and collisions, but most of the discussion is about making the decision to rework ALL of the #artwork for the entire game, why I made that decision and the work involved to implement it. https://youtu.be/FH2xYPzxVz4 #indiedev #buildinpublic #unity
After countless attempts, tweaks, and rebuilds, I’ve decided to abandon the BashCoreLX project (BashCore with LXDE). LightDM issues drove me crazy...
Now starting tests for BashCore-X with XFCE GUI
Fingers crossed!

This May Day, Labour Day, I woke up early to work on my new project BashCoreLX.
I have set up a lab similar to the one I used for BashCore, and I am currently building the first test ISO using live-build.
Fingers crossed

In this #devlog I implement a lives system, introduce a crash bug, then fix it & create a web playable version of the game. Next I begin work on a pickups system to score points by collecting food and streamline the entire codebase by #refactoring to use the #Unity event system. https://youtu.be/hrbINTjkdbo #gamedev #buildinpublic #cleancode
Another entry in my erratic #Amiga Isometric Game #DevLog has trundled in. Finishing off the second zone and approaching half the rooms built. Hang on to your hat!

Got my simple, little test turrets tracking and firing. Only direct fire at the moment, I need to also have a think about beams and parabolic arcs for the heavier munitions (these current "bullets" are far too large, but it makes them easy to see

This #devlog is all about spawning obstacles for Toasty to bump into. I've used the object pooling pattern which is much more efficient than constantly instantiating and destroying objects (overkill for this game but good practice). I wrestle with sprite positioning and colliders but get it working in the end. https://youtu.be/E63Kx87Ivvo #gamedev #unity #buildinpublic #gamedevjourney
Hey everyone! This time, we'll be playing with fire. It's not the first time I've created a fire shader, but back then, I used a noise texture and a curve as a parameter, which significantly simplified the whole process. Now, we'll try it without such tools and generate a candle flame, which, as always, will have plenty of parameters for further adjustments. So let's get to it. #Godot #Godot4 #GodotEngine #GodotTips #shaders #devlog #indiedev

As a #programmer but #beginner I already know that documentation is important: that's why I'll make a website to document my adventures and potential progress.
If you have any resources that you think could help me, do not hesitate a second!
If you have any tools to advise, do not hesitate a second!
I'm considering using #fedora #Kinoite with #toolbx or something like #RockyLinux (but if you have other distros to advise, tell me) with
#kdevelop #codelite for C++, #spyder or #pycharm for Python
and #rustrover or #lapce for Rust
and
#kateeditor for simple file edition.

Introducing my third practice game, which is my first built using the #Unity engine: Toasty Tumble. It's a simple game inspired by #flappybird. This first #devlog has a lot of work preparing the artwork and setting up prefabs for the game, and I create the player character. https://youtu.be/ctqq0DS-VW0 #gamedev #solodev #madewithunity #buildinpublic #girlswhocode

New devlog is up! I talk about the accessibility tweaks and additions I've been working on in April. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3505230/view/533222594185265313
