One of my biggest takeaways from my #adhd journey is that 99.9% of #psychiatric articles are 100% unhelpful.
They are written from the POV of an outside observer, *even in self-assessment tests and descriptions of #medication effects*.
"How often are you distracted by activity or noise around you?"
Never. I am alert to my surroundings, sometimes to the annoyance of other people near me who may need to momentarily take a back seat to a potential hazard or critical issue.
"How often do you have difficulty waiting your turn in situations when turn taking is required?"
When required? Never. But it often happens that slowpokes are content to mosey along or no one is eager to take their turn, in which cases I'm happy to take their place.
"Adderall can normalize your attention span and help you listen better."
Weird, that's not what it does for me. It makes me feel calm and like I don't need to juggle 5 things at once before I forget them.
