How To Convert A PDF File To Markdown (With Images) In Linux | OSTechnix - DF files are great for sharing documents, but they are not easy to edit or convert into other formats. If you want to convert a PDF to Markdown format (while keeping the images), this guide will show you how to do it using poppler-utils and pandoc, two powerful open-source tools used for document processing.

Simplifying my fish shell configuration:
- bye bye omf
- fisher as plugin manager
- tide as prompt (just as a test for now, I want to compare it to pure or starship or any other)
- plugins list still empty, I need to look at want could be useful (suggestions welcomed)

Things are getting dangerous for #YunoHost!

Once I understood the logic behind the email addresses, I created five domains. After all of them were equipped with a #letsencrypt certificate, I created five accounts for the required #email addresses. The successful setup of the #cli mail program #aerc confirmed my thoughts. Joy... only briefly.

Now the websites should be back online. So I fed #FileZilla the new information. No connection. I could only access the #server with the administrator credentials, but not a public_html directory. So I checked via #ssh. There's no "Document_root" defined in #nginx, and under "sites-available" there is only "default" (without a document_root).

Why doesn't YunoHost create a corresponding data structure for the domains? Especially since there's no mention of it in the documentation. My blood pressure is rising 😤

Keine Verbindung. Also per #ssh nachgesehen.

Mein Blutdruck steigt 😤

You don’t know how many personalities the #AWS #CLI has until you double-check your #disasterrecovery vendor’s work during a failover test. But hey, at least now I have a pile of #shellscript that gives me strong signals.

That’s all well and good for the #infrastructure, but we may have impeded ourselves when we gave the unproven disaster recovery environment production-like (i.e. restrictive) permissions. Diagnosing why the workloads aren’t starting up properly is unnecessarily difficult.

Clocking buttons on a form doesn't inspire #creativity, it doesn't feel powerful, everyone's doing it, it can't inspire #curiosity.. Now, typing a few commands into the #cli, makes you feel like a powerful level 99 #wizard and makes you want to dig round in your infinite bag of holding.

I guess what I'm saying, is if you are new to the #homelab or #selfhosted space,... Ditch #wireguard #web #gui apps and use the #terminal

Moreso,.. Ditch #windows and use #linux

Start with a spare device.

Dunno if this is a hot take but: All CLI password entry should move to having *****s, like GUI password boxes.

Everyone talks about the danger of "oh no they'll know your password length if they squint really hard and watch you like a hawk!".

No one talks about the danger of not noticing that you're typing into the wrong window and posting your password to a group chat.

Yes, we have done this. 0/10 do not recommend.
