Holy crap! I just realized I passed the 1k follower mark. I think this (in the least) calls for another #Introduction:
I'm a Linux and BSD aficionado who advocates for computer freedom. I post and boost things related to Privacy, Security and the empowerement of #oldcomputers through #FreeSoftware.
Elsewhere, I host a blog (https://kzimmermann.0x.no) and have a peertube account @kzimmermann@diode.zone where I record commentary about the above while doing #freegaming
Thanks to everyone who followed me!
@kzimmermann@diode.zone and yes, I've passed the "round number" mark from both a decimal and an #xkcd perspective haha
(inb4 lotsa people jump off at this point)
@matthew @kzimmermann I feel like retro applies to computers that are like, non- or pre-x86 at least. Like if you can just install Ubuntu on it and that’s not quite retro IMO.
@jamie
@matthew agreed. And even the "old" part of #oldcomputers has some subjectivism - is 10 years old age for a computer? (average age for most of mine) 20? 90s yellowing white cases and CRT required?
I appreciate them all, though. The trend is the opposite of when I used Windows: the older, the more interesting
