'Bout that time of year to accept the easy snow is gone. Been a good July so far, cant ask for much more than four days on snow. Found a fun little run, and lots more snow above this point but the effort to reach these places starts to add up creating more time to question yourself. So I recommend to bring some good questions, your pack weighs less with a heavy mind.

Been spending so much time photographing around Mt Rainier & Chinook pass I dont know where to begin my mountain posts. Caught a few sunsets, a sunrise and night shots; heres a few splitboard moments from Saturday. Ive never spent so much time in a national park, between work & free time, I'll be able to observe & share quite a bit about the area. Dialing in some natural history and learning more about how the Cordilleran Ice Sheet helped shape how we define the Cascadia landscape. Mountains support such incredibly diverse ecosystems, Im excited to learn more to share. If you have questions or know of cool resources to learn from, Id love to hear them!

Younger me liked to say, follow your heart. Older me loves to say, lead with your heart. Believe in yourself, big change is coming.

Been exciting to see so much momentum growing in the fediverse embracing the opportunity to create "public social media".

Happy #mountainmonday Sharing a few photos from last Monday #splitboarding Mt Ellinor. Was going to head to #MtRainier last week but it was closed mid week. Hope thats not a new budget cut. A lot challenges ahead, stay positive theres gonna be a real needed opportunity to show support, lead and share what you know. #NationalPark #nationalforest #natureheals #support #leadership #opportunity

Looking back through 2024 pictures, realizing I had to break up with some old paths in order to get closer with new bigger opportunities. Reflecting from a couple of favorite mountain experiences this past year in Canada & Oregon. It was a pretty strange year for me personally working through some adversity, had some pretty low moments and hit some high notes too. Overall leaving 2024 better off than how it started. Feeling really optimistic & creating space for positivity ahead. Despite some cultural/political challenges unfolding, sensing this as an opportunity to lead, be a better person and navigate these stormy times more effectively by connecting with more like minded people. Hear hear, to living better in the new year!

Sharing some big mountain vibrations. You ever reach a view that is so beautiful you cant stop taking pictures? This was that moment for me, catching the last rays of daylight. Since it was quite cold the group I was with didn't stick around long. I have a hard time leaving these places, especially knowing how rare it'll be to ever return again. If you zoom in you can see some mighty glaciers deep within the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Grateful to be able to share such a memory.

Looking back & reflecting on some photos of me taken this past year. Im a bit shy and also a privacy advocate so I don't like posting selfies. This past year helped me realize though to make a bigger impact and be more effective at helping more people; one needs to be willing to share themselves. I may explore that further. Feeling we can all do more big things, with less money, by being more efficient with using better technology tools. That philosophy has been influenced quite a bit this past year sharing this online space with you. Thank you for inspiring me.

Tomorrow is the start of my winter season! Excited to step into some new big adventures and learn more good things to share.

Season of turns are just around the corner! Where will the flow go, deciding now what to manifest and how to take action for it.

Wagering if I should travel again this winter or stay more local. Remote work is lined up, bills at a minimum, travel fund secured, where can I be most effective? Shifting my mindset more on systems rather than goals. Just thinking out loud on this #MountainMonday Planning for the next phase.

Always so fascinated by the backcountry huts, cabins and shelters made for the mountains. Love seeing what you all been sharing with the mountain community. Here are some photos from a cabin trip last winter at Bailey mountain in Oregon. Rode out a memorable 3 day storm here that dumped over a 1m/3ft of snow. It was a very cold stay, the cabin had holes in the walls and the old wood stove didn't put out much heat. Not knowing how cold it would be, we brought more beer than wood. Which worked out great on the last night when new friends joined bringing more wood and beer!

Im getting excited for Oregon Splitfest this weekend! Every year a small plow of splitboarders gets together on Mt Hood for a 2 night camp out on the more remote, North side of the mountain. Its slightly more party than touring but the depth friendships created hold potential to be some of the best one can find. Thankful to have found a community of mountain people to learn from and share adventures together. #splitboardingistheanswer #splitfest #splitboarding #community #mthood #mountains
