Nanuraq Uttak won the #NunavutQuest traditional dog team race. Just under 41 hours of mushing from Pond Inlet to Iglulik #Nunavut. Nanuraq is still in his 20s and this was his second year racing. He's from Iglulik but lived here in Arctic Bay for a while. A really cool kid.
This is likely my favourite photo from last year's race. Nanuraq is at the back in the blue jacket, behind his team. His dad and a younger brother flank the team. My son is named after Nanuraq's grandfather.
