If you still have domains at Gandi.net be aware that enshitiffication is now in full flow.

They didn't send the usual 60 and 30 day reminders for a domain I have there, instead I got a "domain expires today!" email and the price of renewal had gone from £12.96 last year to near £30 this year.

It was going to expire, so I payed the extortion fee. Really need to move the last 3 awkward customers off of Gandi.

#Rant about the company gandi.net

Fun fact: Did you know that nowadays, when you click on gandi.net/en-US/no-bullshit it sends you to gandi.net/en-US/about-us, without any mention of their "No Bullshit" policy from their glory years? This is an archived page from the Gandi.net I remember: web.archive.org/web/2017060622

I used to like this company, before it became part of the great #Enshittification trend.

Anyone have recommendations for where to migrate to? #GandiNet

Gandi.netAbout GandiGandi.net has become one of the largest domain name registrars in the world, managing over 2.5 million domain names in more than 750 different extensions.

Finished moving all my domains from to . It took like 15 minutes, I got an email to verify the move and it was expedited.

For anyone else moving: make sure to back up your DNS records first before starting it! The DNS records don't get moved, you'll have to set them up again.

First impressions are fine, has a Porkbun plugin, I was able to set up wildcard certs. I don't like Porkbun's UI as much, but it works. Cost is about half as much as Gandi.

I've recently discovered that #GandiNet (my registrar) actually supports DNS updates through their API. I played around with it a little, and it seems to work as expected when used correctly (8-P) so I may be able to phase out my dependency on NoIP. Looking forward to that, honestly.
