Saved another 25€ on the renewal cost for a .org domain name by transferring it away from #Gandi
I could buy two other new .org domains with those savings. (I’m not going to do that though ;) )
2 more domains to go and I’m free from Gandi.

PS: Je pose la question d'un point de vu technique et impact #social. Donc si vous êtes employé de ces registrars, je veux bien savoir comment sont traitées la diversité et les #femmes au sein de ces entreprises, au delà de ce qu'ils disent sur leur site web, vous pouvez me le dire en MP si cela vous va mieux.
Je pose la question car @chtitedev étudie l'achat de son #nom_de_domaine et, #chtitedev oblige, ce serait top que notre groupe ne finance pas indirectement des entreprises néfastes pour les minorités (ou à défaut les moins pires!). #ovh #gandi #infomaniak #bookmyname #scaleway #Netim #registrar
I wonder how long #porkbun has had their "BIND Zone File - BETA" import option. I wish I had noticed it on my last transfer to them (I looked). Adding all the records one by one was a drag. Nice and fast on this last one.
I'm still very bitter about how #gandi went from being one of the coolest registrars out there to a pile of poop.

#Hetzner, suppression de compte : même avec tous les VPS supprimés, les dernières factures payées, le bouton prometteur "DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT" reste grisé ("vous pourrez le faire quand vous aurez tout soldé"). Obligé de contacter le service client pour... pour quoi ?
Non mais sérieux, laissez les gens partir quand ils le veulent. Ça donne pas envie de revenir

Gandi.net has been down for over 30 hours now, no POP/IMAP and slow SMTP. The last status update on their website, more than 15 hours ago, is like "tralala, all is good, il n'y a aucun problème!". People like me, who got fed off their practice long ago but were too busy/lazy to move away so far, got what they deserved. I have no access to my email, so if you want to reach out please write here or on XMPP/Matrix/Signal, or to my corporate email address. Gandi's DNS control panel is also locked, so for now I cannot move to another email hosting provider.
This looks beyond incompetence. If I had to guess, my bet would be on a cyber attack, maybe Russian ransomware. I wish they'd let us know.

Gandi est en carafe depuis 1h du matin. Donc en plus de payer une blinde (parce que procrastination + crainte de faire de la merde en migrant), j'ai un service de mauvaise qualité, parce que j'ai aucune idée de ce qui se passe, quand je me connecte je n'ai qu'une erreur. Merci #Gandi
I am looking for a reliable mail hosting provider, with 2FA, unlimited aliases (including catch-all * ), POP+SMTP+IMAP, no mobile app required, with configurable domain but not bundled to the provider being the registrar. Possibly based in EU/Switzerland.
Discarded options:
- I am moving away from Gandi.
- Infomaniak seems to require registering domain with them.
- Zoho based in UK.
- MXroute does not seem to offer 2FA.
- Autistici/Inventati only with one of their domains (not configurable).
- Fastmail based in Australia.
- Mailcheap based in USA.
Thankful for any suggestions

@alderwick @thomasorus I am moving away from #gandi right now. The current outage is the straw that broke the camel's back.

@daj @hryggrbyr #Gandi broke its promise regarding the free email addresses you could have with a domain for which they were the registrar, and they've insanely increased their prices in the last year or so. Oh, they've been bought by TWS in February 2023; that's probably just a coincidence!
I've switched to #Infomaniak 6-9 months ago first for email then for domains, FWIW. The commercial offers may be a bit hard to read, but the service works well for me (I only wish they'd shut up about “AI”...).
Deleted my #Gandi account today 
All of my domains are now with #BookMyName. The last domain I transferred was 78% cheaper than Gandi's price!
Thanks once again to @thomasorus who introduced me to BookMyName. As well as being tremendously cheaper, their DNS hosting tools are a dream too.

Sous couvert de réorganisation de l'offre commerciale, il va falloir payer deux fois plus cher pour garder des performances équivalentes 
Ce changement se fait évidemment par défaut, même s'il reste possible de basculer manuellement vers une offre inférieure
Va falloir se coller à analyser les concurrents et planifier une migration dans les mois à venir 
PUTAIN ! j’avais raté la folle explosion des tarifs de Gandi en tant que registrar. Je viens de m’en rendre compte pour un domaine que j’ai négligé de renouveler avant l’échéance.
J’ai gardé l’habitude de dissocier l’hébergement et le registrar. Mon hébergement est bêtement chez OVH depuis longtemps. Je vais bien sûr transférer mes domaines pro et perso chez un autre registrar.
Alors, vous me conseillez de les transférer chez qui ? Un gentil de préférence, hein.
