It's gonna be my last week on facebook this week. I've logged out of Insta, Threads, X, Pinterest too because I bloody hate all the AI slop and ads.

My last job on Facebook is to message all the LGTBQIA+ pages and businesses and encourage them to switch to Masto, Pixelfed or even Bluesky.
Or at the very least, run them parallel.

Hi, I’m Rook, and online previously known as DarkFox (or DarkFoxDK). I’m in my mid-30s, and I’ve been doing #WebDevelopment, #programming, and #database work since school.

Currently, I work with complex #automation systems in #HealthCare, doing a mix of #UserSupport, #SystemAdmin, and #DataAnalysis.

At home, I’m constantly tinkering with #SmartHome projects using #HomeAssistant, building my own #electronics, and diving into #3DPrinting.

I'm not really feeling NYE this year. I'm exhausted, I'm bored of celebrations centered around alcohol, I'm frustrated that many of my friends will probably go to large, crowded events without any COVID precautions. I don't even really feel comfortable celebrating anything right now when the world is such a shit show.

But I also can't 100% ignore the FOMO. 🥲 I want better options.

Sometimes I'm worried that my gender might be masculine(ish) Miyazaki film characters who really, really needed therapy but somehow avoided it by having a ✨girl✨ swoop in and do a lot of emotional labor to teach them a valuable life lesson. I think subconsciously I've avoided acknowledging a desire to date women because I don't want to hurt them by accidentally putting them in that position, which causes me some level of gender dysphoria - I only have that level of self awareness from being hurt by people treating me like a manic pixie dream girl (thanks #autism ).

I really have no idea what to do about all this, considering I'm AFAB and find my current body really, really, really ridiculously good looking, but also want people to emotionally treat me as masculine? 😖 Also I am in #therapy. Also I have very bad imposter syndrome and constantly second guess my every feeling.

I wish there was a word to describe my experience so I could easily find and talk to people with similar struggles.
