More news on my trying to get the OnePlus issues fixed. At least the fingerprint sensor issue, that's a big one for me. So I found an email, support@oneplus.com. I emailed them about the issue, including links to Android developer accessibility stuff per my usual method of contacting developers. But I got a customer service™ representative instead. They wanted me to reset my phone, then when I told them my phone was only a few days old, they wanted to return or replace the phone. So I tried to tell them it was an issue with Oxygen OS, the software, I've not gotten a reply yet.

So, today, I'm going to try to log into my OnePlus account using AIRA, since they have a capcha without an audio version. I'll see if posting to the community helps any better. Goodness I just need to reach a software engineer lol.

Bin gerade am Überlegen ob ich mein jüngstes #Smartphone (#Oneplus 8) auch mit #LineageOS bestücken soll. Leider habe ich keine andere Wahl ein alternatives #CustomROM außer LineageOS zu installieren, da zb #GrapheneOS oder #CalyxOS das Gerät nicht unterstützen. Der momentane Zustand mit dem hauseigenen Betriebssystem #OxygenOS von Oneplus ist nicht mehr tragbar. Viele nutzlose (Spy)Apps von Oneplus lassen sich nicht deinstallieren, einige wenige nur deaktivieren. Sehr unbefriedigend das ganze.

found the solution within minutes, basically the first hit.

The "Contacts" app on my Android (#OxygenOS 13.0) apparently creates version 2.1 vcards, which is no longer supported by #nextcloud it seems.

There is an open PR to support vcards of version <3.0
github.com/nextcloud/contacts/

but for a quick solution, there is also a python script to convert lower versions to 3.0: github.com/jowave/vcard2to3

#OxygenOS just put a global search bar on your updated OnePlus phone. Take it off in your settings like this:

Settings....Swipe down on Home Screen..... deactivate Show Search in the Lower Part of your Home Screen.

Seems overly nosy and privacy settings point to some company in Singapore.

Not good.

Schaue seit einigen Wochen nach einem Nachfolger für mein #OnePlus6, das seit dem letzten #OxygenOs Update extrem langsam geworden ist (bestimmt Zufall 🤔). Alle Alternativen, die in Frage kommen, haben dann aber doch immer einen Punkt, der mich ziemlich stört. So langsam kommt mir "aktuelles Gerät behalten und #Lineageos ausprobieren" immer verlockender vor... Wenn da nicht das nervige Sichern und Wiederherstellen wegen Datenverlust beim Unlock wäre...
