tsk<p>It occurs to me that when people take the position of a privileged uber-consumer in an IT discussion, and declare they won't settle for anything "less" than having access to the proprietary thing (banking app instead of the bank website), that all they're really doing is abdicating control of their own lives to SV oligarchs. It also seems like they don't care if the rest of us are forced into the same info-ditch as they reside.</p><p>We call this topic <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/deGoogle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>deGoogle</span></a> but its actually the reason why I distrust most <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> devotees: They will argue for the proprietary app every time and suggest you're some kind of vagrant for using a website instead of a proprietary app from the one, true App Store.</p>
