Why am I on Mastodon? B/c the white Christian boy from the Bible belt never had to #resist anything.

We were in poverty, but my family gladly used #Section8 #Medicaid #Tenncare #FoodStamps #SNAP and #EBT

Now the #AmericanChurchTM hates the poor & I don't know how to #organize, subvert power structures or resist

So we'll learn from the #BIPOC and #Queer community & those who have spent time #protest ing & resisting

We'll figure out #Zines #mutualAid #bailfunds #harmreduction #directaction

"Fairphone’s progress on core impact strategies, page 21.
Under the header "Levels of circularity: 8 R’s" are 3 shaded areas pointing to "KPI 2", "KPI 3", then "KPI 3 + 4". A banded arrow along the left bridges these areas, pointing upward. Its label is "Order of Priority" from "Low" to "High".

These point to KPI 2.
Refuse: prevent raw materials use.
Rethink: redesign product in view of circularity.

These point to KPI 3.
Reduce: decrease raw materials use.
Repair: maintain and repair product.
Refurbish: revive product.
Remanufacture: make new product from second hand.
Repurpose: re-use product but with other function.

This points to KPI 3 + 4.
Recycle: salvage material streams with highest possible value.

#Trump promised his #rural and #RedState supporters he would end the harm that drug abuse is causing their communities. But by ending harm-reduction, he is stabbing those communities in the back:

"#HarmReduction does not increase #drug use. The most important thing about harm reduction is that it builds trust with people so that folks who wouldn't otherwise get any kind of care can get the type of care that they need."

I completely forgot that the Seattle Times editorialized no on vouchers. They also oppose harm reduction for substance use in favor of coerced treatment which all research shows to be ineffective, and support Ann Davison for City Attorney. Reactionary to the core!

As we begin to lose sight of Trudeau in the rearview mirror, his legacy is beginning to take shape. Drug liberalization and senate reform seem to be his biggest accomplishments. The senate in particular is no longer a rubber stamp, thanks to Trudeau.

We can also thank him for the proliferation of safe consumption sites and the rapid progress we've seen in harm reduction. In fact, overdose deaths are finally beginning to drop.

I'm watching a documentary of Rob Ford, and as much as I want to dislike the guy, as an addict it affects me seeing the crack video. He obviously needed help, and he wasn't getting it. It's also possible that drug use played an indirect role in his death.

Substance use isn't a crime, addiction is a personal healthcare issue.

He was a bad politician, there are plenty of things to criticize. His drug use and addiction are not one of them.
