El 24 de agosto de 1944 la novena compañía de la Segunda División blindada de #Lecrerc, popularmente conocida como la “#novena”, entraba en #París a las 20:41, liberándola de la ocupación #nazi. El nombre de aquellos primeros tanques no dejan lugar a dudas sobre sus tripulantes: el #Teruel, el #Brunete, el #EspañaCañi, el #Belchite, el #Ebro, el #Madrid, el #Guernica… nombres de batallas de la #GuerraCivil española en la que aquellos habían participado.

Los alrededor de 90 hombres que componían la “#novena” eran #socialistas, #comunistas, #republicanos y sobre todo #anarquistas, muchos antiguos milicianos de la Columna #Durruti, provenientes del conflicto en #España. Los refugiados españoles habían sido internados en campos de concentración tras su huida a #Francia, muchos reclutados como mano de obra barata. Muchos de ellos se unirían a la resistencia y el maquis francés, liberando localidades de #África, #Francia e incluso #Alemania con su ayuda. La valentía y arrojo de aquellos veteranos revolucionarios impresionó a los mandos galos.

El primer tanque que entró en #París fue el #Guadalajara, conducido por #anarquistas extremeños. Fueron recibidos como auténticos héroes por el pueblo francés, que acompañaron su llegada con cánticos de “#AyCarmela” y “#Alasbarricadas”, dejando fuera de duda el origen de aquellos combatientes. Los miembros de la “#novena” fueron considerados los grandes liberadores de #París, permitiéndoseles liderar el desfile de la victoria bajo el arco del triunfo por delante de las tropas francesas y norteamericanas.

Aquellos españoles confiaban que los nuevos gobiernos respondieran a su solidaridad liberando #España del yugo #fascista ahora que sus aliados habían caído. Pero esa liberación nunca llegó. En la década de los 60 el régimen #franquista era plenamente aceptado por la comunidad internacional y #DeGaulle prohibía la prensa y actividad #antifranquista dentro de #Francia

Photos of my journey this october with my camping van. Accompanied by Riku the husky I traveled for 4 weeks through spain.

17. Day: Heading north from Madrid, we passed Burgos. For a short stop, we had a look at the old town and the cathedral. Further north, we drived through lovely valleys and passed again Rio Ebro in Escalada, 400km from the delta.
