@pwaring @mcrscifi according to your own scores, looks like you're getting better at picking :) If the goal is to read books that get higher scores.

Looking at my reads this year that are compatible with the kind of books your "club" reads:

Dragonflight, Anne McAffrey
Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad (my "sci fi" angle is that one framing is that entire story is a delusion)
Ice, Anna Kavan (not enjoyable, but quite interesting, much to talk about)
The Cyberiad, Stanisław Lem

@drj @mcrscifi I think it's also the case that the group has got smaller, so we can choose books we think we will all like rather than a leader picking for the group (which the post apocalyptic club does). I'm probably the harshest scorer and I usually give books 3+
