My copy of Gideon the Ninth is not in the "one day I'll get round to donating these" bags in my hallway... That means one of two things:
* For some, unknown reason I decided to keep it
* I've given it to a friend

Now, which is easier... Asking friends if I gave it to them, they still have it and can I borrow it back OR looking through books behind books on shelves and piles OR just buying a new one?

How I did not get on with lesbian space necromancers when I first read it is a mystery

We've had to swap some books around for #mcrsf meaning I've now got to reread Gideon the Ninth for next month... Which means in have to find it and it isn't in my "disliked it enough - but not evil enough to not want to let it into the wild - to stack in my hallway for donating" stacks...

Hoping I'm more receptive to it this time round - more receptive than "lesbian space necromancers? Hell yeah - inject that right into my veins" might be tricky though...

Loved Chapter 1 though...

Who invented work? Can we sack them yet?

Meant to be moderating book for #MCRSF tonight (don't worry, I will be) but I read it back in March - that's 24 and a third books ago - and this unhealthy obsession with capitalism (and my perfectly reasonable obsession with shiny new books) means I haven't re-read it so *shrug*

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren Janes got 2.97 Meal Packet Origami Creations (out of a maximum of 5) at @mcrscifi last night. We had two new members too, one of whom I think found us via Mastodon!

If anyone wants to join us for the next book, A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock, we'll be discussing it on Tuesday 20th August from 7-9pm (UK time).
