I get very tired of this endless series of "Agile is bad" articles.
The truth is, agile is swamped by the "Agile Industrial Complex" snake-oil salesman and agile is getting slowly strangled by people more interested in making money off of it instead of building better software.

@ovid My general take is: Things work when project managers tell your software developers what to do, and things break down when they tell developers how to do it. In agile as it was conceived, developers break down the tasks and set the timelines and who works on what and it works well enough. In practice, PMs try and control the details and assign work and it's just Panicked Waterfall.
@ovid yeah i’m not necessarily an agile advocate, but heard another "we implemented agile recently and nothing gets done anymore", and it was the classic degenerate planning and retrospective and hourly+ standup meetings taking half the week and all the stamina.
"yeah, that’s not agile".
@ovid Isn’t that the case with, well, everything?
@mjgardner Sadly, true, but I use agile regularly, so it directly impacts me.
