The weather: some people ask me why would I move to the Netherlands if Portugal has such nice weather. The thing is: I never appreciated the weather while I lived in Portugal. Is it sunny? It wouldn’t phase me and I would just stay inside. It was normal and most of the year. Here people do actually appreciate weather and do stuff outside when it’s sunny. And it doesn’t become unbearably hot (35-40+) like is so often in Portugal.
That being said, u do still prefer the slightly colder summers in the Netherlands. It’s now 16C and the sky is clear. Barely any wind. This is almost perfect weather. And I will take a walk to appreciate it. Even now, when I visit Portugal, I do go for a walk in my parents hometown. I would rarely do that while I lived there. It was a given, not special.
