Say what you want, apple hardware last forever. And when macOS is EOL you just move to Linux.
The batteries on this Macbook lasted 8 years, and started inflating.
Swapping them with iFixit parts and guide was an half and hour journey in engineering, and the art of fixing things.

@m33 #LouisRossman would like a word.
@RockyC a little tale about hardware, good faith and the harsh reality. I bought myself a pinephone, invested quite some work to contribute to make squeakboard (the keyboard GUI) actually works and patches made it upstream. Then pinephone died, screen and motherboard kaput. Back to my 6 years old iPhone I went.
What LouisRossman could do about it ? Could he strike at Pine with a press release maybe ?
@m33 Are we really comparing a company like Pine64 to Apple? And a $200 retail smartphone to a $1,000+ premium product?
I EXPECT to have issues with a PinePhone.
Apple makes good stuff, but they have hardware failures like any other manufacturer. The difference is that Apple doesn’t want you to fix your iPhone and blocks repair while Pine64 encourages you to self-repair.
@RockyC@fosstodon.org I buy my iPhones from back market, never more than 400€.
Buy whatever please you I'm done with this utopia
