I’m gen X

But I can’t possibly fathom anyone who actually eats breakfast cereal anymore

Even if not for breakfast!

Do you still eat cereal with or without milk?

@nutjob4life
I am an old hippie. I make yummy granola w oats & seeds & dried fruit. It costs way less than the crap in the cereal aisle for 1/2 the $

I eat it w yogurt & a banana
Every day, unless I'm traveling

Which is my excuse to go crazy
#biscuitsandgravy #cornedbeefhash #frenchtoast All too much like work unless someone else is getting paid to make them for me 😄

@nutjob4life I eat it at random points during the day, sometimes with a milk alternative, sometimes dry, but never at breakfast.

@FuchsiaShock
I do eat it for breakfast, but it's getting harder and harder to find whole grain cereal without any added sugar. I have to get it on Amazon now.
@nutjob4life

@nutjob4life
I have experienced enough bouts of depression to keep multiple kinds of cereal on hand (not generic sugary crap) so that I will at least eat something on those days.

@nutjob4life do Grape-Nuts and Greek yogurt count as cereal? I need to know before I can vote.

@BunRab @nutjob4life in the muesli (i assume you mean granola): how much net carbs, how much added sugar, how is it sweetened (hfcs, came sugar,...)

@smurthys Unlike granola, muesli has no added sweeteners, the bits of dried fruit are the only sweetener. No sugar, no honey, no hfcs, no agave... Also the grains in granola are often toasted, the ones in muesli usually aren't.

@nutjob4life It's in my regular breakfast rotation, if you buy the bougie healthy stuff it's a great zero-effort way to get a solid amount of protein and fiber

@nutjob4life
with milk for breakfast every two weeks ;
dry as mid evening snack, once a month

@nutjob4life Millennial here, discovered granola about 6 years ago, I sometimes eat Sante Chocolate Granola with Milk (dairy or oat) for breakfast or supper.

@nutjob4life born in 1980. I eat unsweetened cereal for breakfast like Cheerios with my kid in the morning. Sweet cereal for dessert at night like Lucky Charms. Just something nostalgic and comforting about it - if you can do dairy that is.

@sand @nutjob4life And even if you can't, there's increasing lactose-free options, as well as all the alternative milks.

@nutjob4life I usually eat a bowl of cereal with milk before bed, but I haven't had any since the beginning of November, due to stomach issues (not specifically cereal related, but I haven't been buying milk since the problem started...it's mostly gone now, but I haven't started buying milk again yet).

@rvedotrc I guess the idea of counting calories and thus choosing how I would prefer higher quality, more healthy, and more soul-soothing foods than mere cereal 🤷‍♀️

@nutjob4life Fair enough; but not everyone has those same priorities.

@nutjob4life And not everyone would agree with your subjective assessment of cereal as “mere” cereal.

Not saying you’re wrong, just saying that different priorities lead to different outcomes:)

@rvedotrc you’re right. Thanks for the reality check

@nutjob4life I used to eat a LOT of cereal. I've slowed my roll considerably, but it's still a tasty treat I'll indulge a craving for periodically.

@nutjob4life i occasionally stand naked in the kitchen at 2am shovelling handfuls of dry cereal into my mouth with my bare hands but that's pretty much the only time i have cereal

@nutjob4life I have a bowl of Golden Temple granola (that I buy in bulk 25lb boxes) with some Nancy's whole milk yogurt. Been my regular thing every day for going on 20 years.

One guess where I grew up...
