I am running again for the Board of OpenStreetMapUS! It's been an incredible 2 years and I hope to have another 2.
We have 3 spots open this election and I would love to have a whole bunch of incredible candidates. It's as simple as adding your name to the elections wiki page! Nominations close on Feb 9.

I have a talk in about 12 hours at Mapping USA 2025. It will be about WAMap and the virtues of vector based maps and client side filtering for doing data exploration.
You can also hear me later in the day reminding you to run for the OSM-US Board of Directors… if that’s something you may be interested in.
I hope you can join us! It’s free and all virtual.
Hey #OSMUS folks! If you haven't taken the Community Survey yet, now's a good time!

Just out of curiosity: Has the US OSM community discussed mapping polling places? That would be legal from government data, or would it? Or do the locations change so frequently that they are too hard to keep up to date?

Had a lovely time talking to the #OSMUS Government Working Group about what we're doing with #OpenStreetMap in Kendall County.
Apparently there's some interest in the topic, and now I have a slide deck put together. If you want me to spend about 20-30 minutes scaring your public sector friends about eliminating data silos and using OSM, let me know!
Results have been tabulated for the @OpenStreetMapUS board of directors election. Winners are Harrison Devine (@hdevine825) and Levente Juhász.
I am thrilled to get to work with them in the coming year and extend my thanks to Nicholas Hudanich for also running.
Mappy Hour tomorrow from some OpenHistoricalMap folks. https://openstreetmap.us/events/mappy-hours/2024/02/openhistoricalmap/
