For some reason I was just suddenly reminiscing about the first #synthesizer I ever got to play with in person. Scott Eddy, a friend of my uncle's (and mine as well but I was a lot younger than them, early to mid teens, I think) left his #Roland #JX3P along with the external #PG200 programmer at our house for us to play with for a bit. I was in awe. Like having some sci-fi gadget from NASA at my hands.

Today's #Jamuary jam was full of technical difficulties and a faulty gain pot on one of my mixer channels 😭 I pushed through though...

The track was based on notes from a single chord, which I picked up from a recent #AndrewHuang video:

Db, F, Ab, Eb, G, Bb

#Roland #Jupiter 6 - pad
Roland #JX3P - arp/sequence
#Korg #Volca Beats - drums
Korg Volca Bass - bass
Korg Volca Keys - fifth melody
#Strymon BigSky - reverb
Roland RE-201 - reverb/delay

That was my BEAUTIFUL #Roland #JX3P which is still alive and I still love it. Such a slept-on synth.

I pestered Cherry to do a version which you load the saved-to-tape sequences and patches onto. But no. 😢

I would pay for a standalone JX-3P sequencer. As long as it had that timing. I wrote so many songs within those constraints.
