System email notifications. Should we still be sending a plain text equivalent with HTML or is that antiquated now? For B2B messages, it's going to be mainly Outlook and Gmail, isn't it?

to HTML emails is. It just means that it won't scroll in probably anything but web mail.
This is just pure hostile design (in this case it's a response to a complaint which just rubs it in...)

A perfect example why I refuse to use #HTMLemail. My father spotted this email (he's the treasurer for Brisbane WICEN) and noticed the odd figure.
K9-mail would only show the HTML version, which made the scam look _very_ authentic.
I hit the 3 dots and forwarded it as an attachment to my own email address to have a good look. Thunderbird's #PlainTextEmail view laid bare the scam.
