I'm using my 30 day Prime membership to watch series 2 of the Rings of Power. Much of it is distinctly meh, but I'm loving the treatment of Tom Bombadil.

No information on who he might be playing. I’d like to see him as a dwarf lord, but he could also be the other mysterious wizard in the East.

We've been alternating in the evenings of the last week between watching episodes of #SecretLevel and watching episodes of the second season of #TheRingsOfPower.

We're not really games players so a lot of the references in Secret Level are lost on us but the animations are lovely. As for the Tolkien adaptation, though, we are struggling a little bit with it. The Rings of Overly Long Speeches And Conversations or The Rings of Oh God Move The Plot Along Please would be better titles.

Taking a break to watch The Rings of Power. Watching mithril get melted down in a crucible and am surprised it takes such a low heat to do so. Those are yellow flames, and not all that hot. A propane torch is hotter than that. Must be magic fire.

Last night I finally finished up the second season of Amazon's #TheRingsOfPower, and I just don't know what this series is supposed to be for. Other than making money for Amazon, at any rate, and I wonder how well it's going for them if it's reportedly costing Amazon $1 billion (with a B!) to make the series.

Anyway, here are my thoughts in a short thread. And full disclosure, I am a "medium" level Lord of the Rings nerd. I read the books and the Hobbit, but not The Silmarillion.

In season 3 of #TheRingsofPower we'll see the detailed reason behind the fall of Numenor, at least. I'm imagining it will turn out to have fallen due to sheer boredom from the plot.
