This…is a restomod done right. Yes, it’s a million dollar toy for rich people. But I feel that so many restorations forget why the original car was so loved to begin with. But this one…it looks like it entirely adds to the car, and takes nothing away.
The Diablo was loved for being an irrational, emotional, outrageous supercar. The restomod brings it into the 21st century without changing its essence. It’s still irrational, emotional, and outrageous, but it now has a lighter carbon fiber body, power steering, way better ergonomics, better cooling, and hopefully better reliability.
These extreme restomods are costly. But if Singer can command $1M+ for a modded 964, then these folks aren’t too far from the mark for the target audience.
I suspect Eccentrica is going to reveal this car in #Monterey next week.
