I stand in solidarity with the #lgbtq community and strongly support equal rights and respect for all individuals, regardless of their #sexualorientation #genderidentity, or expression.

I believe everyone should be free to live authentically and safely without fear of #discrimination #prejudice or #Violence Any one who is #bigoted towards any #minority groups, and/or LGBTQ people should be #educated on the #history and the #discrimination and prejudice these groups received in history.

BOOK REVIEW The War for Kindness: Building Empathy in a Fractured World, by Jamil Zaki

Empathy seems to be an endangered social resource, and in a world where divisions seem to deepen versus lighten more each year, we need to flex those empathy muscles. It takes work, but is not impossible…

[P] Just to state it here:

The "double empathy problem" is an abuse excuse. Is it okay to call it a "double empathy problem" when whites are being racist against blacks? No? Then it shouldn't fly for anti-neurodivergence either.

"Moral rigidity" is prejudiced abuse language against autism and ADHD for unilaterally having a measurably etronger (as confirmed by a mountain of studies) sense of ethics, morality, fairness, and justice.

Gaza ignored

Also problematic is the singular focus on extremist ideologies as the reason for the rise in antisemitism.

In doing so, the strategy omits a compelling fact: the recent upsurge is likely linked to Israel’s war on Gaza which has resulted in mass Palestinian civilian casualties over the past 20 months.

[P] And if you feel that I'm wrong about typies? Then: a.) discover which immigrants in your area are experiencing the most bigotry; and b.) privately ask them how they feel about those immigrants. If you do it without playing your hand (which you have to be careful about, as any sign of a social pressure can have them lie through their teeth)? You'll see wuickly that I'm not wrong. I wish I was wrong!

I'm not in the habit of posting Instagram memes here, but sometimes an exception is warranted. This is powerful writing and a passionate performance and a worthy watch this Fourth of July weekend in the US.

Fordham Now: Fatphobia Is Fueled by AI-Created Images, Study Finds. “A new study by a Fordham student shows how harmful stereotypes of heavier people can be reinforced by AI-driven programs that generate images based on the words that someone types into the program. Words with negative connotations tended to produce images of overweight people, even if the words—such as ‘greedy’ or […]

A quotation from Franklin Roosevelt

We must scrupulously guard the civil rights and civil liberties of all citizens, whatever their background. We must remember that any oppression, any injustice, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization.

Letter (1940-01-09) to William Allan Neilson
