Last night the BayStars of Yokohama annihilated the Hawks of Fukuoka 11-2 to win the Japan Series.
After losing the first two games the BayStars won 4 straight, outscoring the powerful Hawks 28-3 over those 4 games.
Incredible playoff run by the underdogs.
And so baseball is over until Spring.

NPB update. The Hawks beat the BayStars last night 6-3 to take a 2-0 lead in the Japan Series. The teams now head to Fukuoka, home of the Hawks, for games 3, 4 and 5 ( if needed). I expect the Hawks will wrap things up there, but the BayStars have surprised before and I’ve underestimated them before.

I know you’re wondering how the Japan Series is going. Well, see the link below.
The Hawks play in the Pacific League, which uses the DH. The BayStars play in the Central League, which (as God intended) doesn’t.
Note that the Hawks pitcher, who doesn’t normally bat, not only pitched a great game, but he also drove in the winning run.
