I'm going on the record.

Freaks and Geeks is an all-time top 5 #tv #show.

and...... it's perfect it ended when it did.

They didn't overstay their welcome, they didn't fall into every single American TV series trope.

It's a slice of life show that was itself a slice of life.

Perfection.

Aproveito pra deixar uma das minhas cenas favoritas, quando o "freak" Daniel (James Franco), obrigado a conviver com os "geeks" depois de ser forçado a comparecer ao clube audiovisual da escola como punição por mal comportamento, acaba amolecendo e aceitando participar de uma sessão de Dungeon and Dragons. A escolha do nome do personagem dele dentro do jogo, "Carlos, the dwarf", me faz rir só de lembrar.

Hoje isso é corriqueiro, mas imagino que essa tenha sido uma das primeiras vezes em que uma série mostrou os personagens jogando RPG na tela. Isso se não tiver sido a pioneira.

He was a pillar of the underrated Canadian sketch comedy show SCTV, which featured numerous luminaries like Martin Short and John Candy, but they all said he was the funniest guy in the room. AP News · Joe Flaherty, ‘SCTV’ and 'Freaks and Geeks' star, dies at 82 Comedian Joe Flaherty has died. He was a founding member of the beloved Canadian sketch series “SCTV.″ He was 82. His daughter says Flaherty died Monday following a brief illness. Flaherty, who was born in Pittsburgh, spent seven years at The Second City in Chicago before moving north of the border to help establish the theater’s Toronto outpost. He went on to star alongside John Candy and Catherine O’Hara in ”SCTV,″ about a fictional TV station known as Second City Television that was stacked with buffoons in front of and behind the cameras.
