Send the Runners<p>So, I will admit to not really enjoying <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/civilizationVII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>civilizationVII</span></a> nearly as much as all the previous releases over the past 30 years. It took me about 5 tries before I could decisively beat the AI on the most difficult setting. To get there:</p><p>* tend to your diplomacy, but accept that you're going to have to betray all of your allies eventually<br>* build a massive legacy navy you can carry into the modern era, gaining experience for your admirals with low cost campaigns on the periphery <br>* build an enormous bomber fleet as quickly as you can while the AI focuses on heavy armour that you can just pick off, risk free, at a distance<br>* the above allowed me to attrit and destroy enemy units at like a 8 or 9:1 ratio even as it looked kind of hairy when they advanced on my cities; that just isn't sustainable for the enemy for too long<br>* do not sweat losing far flung resource colonies; you want the enemy to focus its attack in that direction while you put your main effort into taking their large cities<br>* use your nukes freely</p>
Level 98 🇺🇦<p>Playing way too much Civ VII (waited till it was patched and discounted, at least slightly)...
