@nw8man@fosstodon.org@TechConnectify i was just watching it. I agree that lots of people dont use their brains to look things up anymore. I recently started to hate YouTube recommeding things for me especially after watching just 1 thing that might be slightly related to something i might have watched. I hate the tracking and recommendations.
@TechConnectify still watching lol. I strictly watch subscription videos that i have subscribed to, however i wonder into the home section if my subscriptions have not posted that much. I dislike the home page as i get a ton of rubbish. I have over 300 subscriptions but occasionally i get empty days and only then look for new things and ultimately find new subscriptions 
@nw8man @TechConnectify fun fact: if you turn off your history you don't get a recommendations feed - it's just blank. You have to rely on your subscriptions. I like it.

@nw8man @TechConnectify just to build on the point, though, that the algo is even more optional than pointed out. Mine is turned off completely. I still find more stuff, from creator recommendations and the related videos, which still come up while you're watching something.
