To the Harry Potter fans...
There are a lot of things in the first 2 books that are never mentioned again, like zombies and vampire. There are also plot holes throughout the story.
I know that the author could not have predicted where the story would go while writing the first book or two.
But, I wonder if anyone would be interested in an update that removes the ideas that abandoned after the first book or should it all be left alone.
@my_actual_brain there's tons of people doing fan fiction with HP still, but largely I think it should be abandoned. JKR is a toxic piece of shit, and there's other better kids fiction to focus on.
#HarryPotter
@ToweroftheArchmage I agree about the author, but I can separate the author from the work. I mean, I haven paid for anything Harry Potter related for at least 15 years.
@my_actual_brain but why give it the attention?
@ToweroftheArchmage From my perspective, you are the one who brought up JK Rowling. I’m just here to talk about Harry Potter.
I don’t support what she said, but what you are talking about is off topic TBH.
@my_actual_brain yeah, like they somehow aren't forever linked.
Thanks for admitting that JKRs repulsive views aren't a deal breaker for you.
@ToweroftheArchmage No problem. The best part about the fediverse over Reddit and Twitter is seeing the other persons point of view and respecting each other’s differing opinions.
I don't remember either of those, but it's been a long time since I read the books, and I don't think the films mention them.
Maybe they'll be addressed in the upcoming reboot. Haven't decided if I want to watch that yet.
@mackaj I don’t think they are mentioned in the movies either, I doubt they will come up as I think zombies are mentioned once ever and vampires as far as I know where mentioned just 2 times. I wouldn’t mind a spinoff series that gets away from the school and gets a bit darker.
A parallel story around the same timeframe or set in more modern times?
@mackaj either would be fine for me, but I don’t want it to be too campy. I’d like something that takes itself seriously.
Fantastic Beasts I thought was darker and had a lot of potential. Shame all that unpleasantness in some actor's real lives derailed the project.
