This week in #FDroid (TWIF):
- Inter Profile Sharing was added, so that you can share data between user profiles
- Headwind MDM Agent was updated, offering a FOSS mobile device management solution
- Minetest was renamed to Luanti
- OSM Dashboard (Offline) for OpenTracks is now reproducible, which means you have to re-install it to get this and future updates
- we archived the apps from Simple Mobile Tools (use the Fossify apps instead)
Read the details and more at https://f-droid.org/2024/11/14/twif.html
@fdroidorg Will the Fossify apps retain the "state" of the Simple Mobile Tools apps? For example will it keep my notes or calendar entries?
@met @fdroidorg The transfer worked perfectly for me. I was able to import all the data from the Simple Mobile Tools to the Fossify Apps without any problems.
@met @fdroidorg they have new IDs , so no. However, you can export data frok SMT into the new fossify apps
@met
I think developers said, when forking, that users should export from Simple Mobile Tools (SMT) and then import from Fossify apps. And it would work straightforward.
You may try that before uninstalling SMT.
@met no, but you can export events in .ics and then import them on the fossy version
also they can be installed side-by-side until you complete the migration
