I should make it clearer. I have installed Signal on my desktop(linux) and I am required to install their app on my phone. The android phones require a google sign in.
@bmacDonald94 Signal does not require that your phone is logged into Google. I have it installed on LineageOS phone without Google add-ons.
You can also try using alternative Signal client that can be set up as a primary device on desktop, but I have not tested it myself:

@link2xt ~ Thank you. My problem is that google requires me to sign into google to install on my phone. It is not on my top ten list to do and I really want to ditch android or apple. Thank you again
@bmacDonald94 You can download Signal APK directly from https://signal.org/android/apk/ and install it on Android phone without having to log into Google Play. Signal is also available via F-Droid from Guardian Project (https://guardianproject.info/) now.
@link2xt ~ It is my phone. I still get redirected by the phone to google play. Thank you.
@link2xt ~ I may install F droid. when I have time,
