Another 🥇 for the starter!

I think next time I'm going to aim for 500g loaves rather than 600g though.

The review of the first Bubba was excellent bread, but too big! My daughter had to resort to toasting it in the oven.

The good news: I have no further worries about my starter!

A very large loaf in the process of proofing in an oval banetton on a cutting board. It's only about halfway through proofing and it's starting to overflow. Note to self: cut your 'proofing' fingernail There's a small 'dent' in the middle of the dough (which was a much bigger 'dent' just moments before). Across the 'dent' is a line from my fingernail which is not supposed to be part of the approved 'finger dent' proofing test.

Another episode of The Bread That Took Over My Oven begins. A very large loaf in a very small oven just barely starting to lift.

Six and a half minutes! It's getting covered with foil now!

The same loaf (hopefully) almost done with the lift. It's huge again. It's starting to speckle so it's time to enshroud it with foil until the last 10 minutes to complete browning.

I FINALLY get decent lame slashing (by accident admittedly) and you decide to pop up a forking huge bubble in the middle of one of them.

A loaf of bread with a crevice that looks alarmingly like a Joker-esque manic grin. Other than that, it's actually a nice looking loaf of bread. That I will take great pleasure in eating in revenge!

* Bubba was actually closer to 650g. Bubba Jr was 550g.

Bubba sliced. A very nice airy loaf without too many large bubbles. It's pretty close to perfect in my opinion and reducing the loaf size should address my current troubles with the Bubba's.
