Happy to share, this month is the beginning of a new era in my Drupal career. As I've spent more and more time on Drupal contributions over the last years, up to 50% of my working hours in 2024, it was time to review the business model and find a way to make this sustainable. And to be clear, I want to contribute even more, not less.
That's why I've worked for months on establishing a sponsoring framework, that allows me to contribute as much as possible, by being sponsored by Drupal agencies and clients. What they get in return are issue credits, which help them to reach higher levels in Drupal's marketplace. I strongly believe, this is a win-win-win situation: it's the sponsor getting credit, it's myself getting paid, and it's the Drupal project getting sustainable contributions.
And there is the exciting news! OPTASY, a Platinum Drupal Certified Partner, signed up for this idea and is now sponsoring my work as a Drupal contributor. With over 15 years of experience, OPTASY specializes in building scalable, high-performance Drupal solutions for enterprises, governments, healthcare, and higher education organizations worldwide.
Their commitment to the Drupal ecosystem goes beyond development, actively supporting its growth and sustainability. A huge thank you to OPTASY for investing in the Drupal community and open-source development!
