I'm JBQ, 50-ish, he/him, French-born, currently moving from Spokane, WA, USA to Preveza, Greece.
I have worked on operating systems, browsers, SDKs, and similar tech, mostly for mobile. Most visibly, I managed the Open-Source aspects of Android from 2009 (1.6) to 2013 (4.3).
My strongest languages are C and 68k assembly. I've touched many more.
@jbqueru cool, my best language is probably still 6502. I'm busy learning Powershell for my new IT job though. :)
@jbqueru glad to see you on Mastodon in a federated instance :) multiple old coworkers of mine were laid off this week and I gotta say LinkedIns "Activity" feed has been great for helping support and kind of immediately connect them with people hiring. A lot of Ex Meta people didn't actually use Facebook much so weren't immediately connected to their peers via FB as much as thru their LinkedIns. I guess LinkedIn can kinda shine during upheavals.
@jbqueru a few weeks later now I have seen more Xooglers that have flocked to Mastodon, some Ex Facebookers organized fine on Facebook, others used LinkedIn.
Well honestly I saw more Xoogler organizing on "private" chat apps like Discord and Slack, but in terms of social media musing, I'm seeing it here.
