If you're a software engineer and interested in East Asian languages (so-called #CJK), check out the “CJK computer science terms comparison” I edited!
@hongminhee hmm reminds me of this list maintained by an ex-colleague, tho' more on (generic?) technical terms instead of just CS https://github.com/zhuohongwei/chinese-technical-terms (only Chinese)
@cheeaun Interesting! Thank you for sharing!
@hongminhee oh there's also this https://github.com/shimohq/chinese-programmer-wrong-pronunciation which focuses more on pronunciation/mispronunciation by Chinese programmers when speaking English terms
@cheeaun@mastodon.social @hongminhee@fosstodon.org Sometimes use phonics method to read English words can cause this problem for Chinese programmers.
Another possibility is when the teacher reads these words, the student will imitate these words pronunciation.
@hongminhee Thanks for sharing! I think smartphone is usually just スマホ in Japanese.
@dgoldsmith That's right, I'll fix it!
@hongminhee not even a computer science guy but i love your use of 한자 and separate forms for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan! Really valuable resource
