My custom version of a painter's point. I have a bunch of the traditional ones, and they work great for panels and wider workpieces, but are almost useless for narrow workpieces.

When I was making my grandson's crib, I took a few furring strips and drove a bunch of drywall screws through them pointing upward for finishing the spindles. They work reasonably well, but aren't very flexible.

These should work great for smaller workpieces.

In the center of the frame is a painter's point made from white PLA roughly in the shape of a square pyramid hollowed out. Each side is composed of an M-shaped truss with the corner upright shared between two sides, creating a point at each corner. Thus, rather than a traditional painter's point with a single point, this version has 4 points. I'm sure I've botched this description badly, but it's a difficult thing to describe.
