I don't know why I stayed on Digital Ocean for so long. Hetzner is just miles better for the price.
@cda So much better! I like the convenience of a small VPS but you get so much machine for like €50/month on Hetzner
@annika You really do! I just have a more beefy machine plus a really easy to use storage box for Nextcloud hosting. And what a joy to be billed in Euros rather than dollars.
what do you keep on Hertzner hosts, exactly ?
@calispera I host a bunch of services for myself and others.
- My Funkwhale server
- My Nextcloud server
- A Bitwarden instance for a LUG
- A wiki for the LUG
- My friend's website
This all runs off a single server with a storage box for Nextcloud data. Once Hetzner gets S3 support, I'll look at migrating all of my Funkwhale data over to that, too.
I'm curious about Funkwhale
All my playlists in Spotify are made of music owned by some labels
How could I have the same playlusts in a funkwhale node, should I want to ?
@calispera Funkwhale is mostly a place for discovering content that people publish under permissive licenses. You can upload your own collection of content you own and build playlists out of that, if you want to.
We're currently working on the ability to import/export playlist files from other providers, but this will only import/export metadata. You would still need to upload the music files to play them back in Funkwhale.
