Canada will not lift retaliatory tariffs on the United States if President Donald Trump leaves any on Canada, @AssociatedPress reports. "We're not interested in meeting in the middle," said finance minister Dominic LeBlanc to the CBC. In addition to tariffs, some provinces have banned the sale of U.S. liquor from stores, while Canadians have been boycotting U.S. products and stores for weeks. Foreign minister Mélanie Joly says Canada does not want to "go through this psychodrama every 30 days or so."
@NewsDesk @AssociatedPress People in California don't want to go through this drama either. It's reached the point where an initiative to determine if California should ask to leave the U.S. and become its own country has been authorized to collect signatures - if enough people sign it, it will be on the 2028 ballot. Trump is possibly the #1 reason for people to sign it.
