Can you? Yes. This popped up in my feed on Lemmy.
Mastodon’s UI really isn’t built for it though
Indeed, I'm seeing this post from Lemmy too
@bdonvr yeah I am thinking which interface would be the best for me to interact with both from. I wonder could I use my mastodon account to login to lemmy and then manage both from that UI? Would that be asking too much, I wonder?
You can’t login to another instance. You can interact with pretty much anything with one account, but you still only have one account.
@bdonvr Thanks for explaining. That makes sense now that you have explained it :)
@UprisingVoltage Thank you :)
Give wefwef.app a shot
Already starting to feel like Apollo a little
@OtakuAltair looks good on mobile. I'll for sure check it out. Does it look good on a desktop browser also?
Probably not. I’m using this on pc rn
Hopefully these ux tweaks will all be combined into an extension at some point, kinda like RES
@OtakuAltair I actually like the default lemmy UI and I am an old reddit + RES user (dark mode, always dark mode)
Lemmy doesn’t federate with Mastodon (yet), but I believe kbin can. Mastodon can federate with Lemmy and kbin. Unless you really like that Twitter style interface, I feel Lemmy or kbin offers a better experience. Lemmy and kbin use the Reddit style which I think is a better format, but that’s also subjective. You can go to any kbin or Lemmy instance from your browser and take a look at it. You don’t get all the features until you create an account and login, but you can get a good idea.
@rm_dash_r_star yeah I have been looking at their interfaces, they are like old reddit yet modern too (not easy ro pull off and they have both done a better job at it than new reddit IMHO). Good to know re kbin. I am sure I could follow mastodon people and lemmy accounts from kbin also? may need some experimenting. Currently, I *slightly* prefer the concept/interface of kbin, but lemmy is more popular. But the activitypub nature should make that easier, I imagine.
