Dropped some updates to selfh.st/apps this morning - tiles now have visible/clickable tags, URL properties have been added for sharing custom views with others, and I've added a ton of new project icons.
I'm completely open to feedback on future improvements, but probably won't consider adding any more details to the tiles to prevent them from becoming too cluttered.
@shollyethan curious where your python scripts store the data they pull from the github API. :)
@crft Everything is stored locally and then pushed to this GitHub repo: https://github.com/selfhst/apps
@shollyethan very cool! Just gave it a star on github. Curious what made you decide on XML files for the data store. Was also wondering if you used a framework or something else for the website.
@crft Thanks! I started building my own RSS feeds several years ago and just defaulted to XML because that's what I was familiar with. I don't use any particular framework for the site - the site itself is self-hosted using Ghost, and the apps page specifically is populated using JavaScript.
