This morning my wife grabbed her coffee, sat down at her computer, signed in, and immediately got a BSOD.
Happy Monday everybody. I hope you had a good weekend.
@mike if you don't mind me asking, what's a BSOD?
@tarcisiosurdi @mike ahh thanks, hate it when that happens.
@mike
Insert "she should use Linux" meme
@s31bz Yea, absolutely she could, but you should see this computer she's using. If my house ever burns down, it's going to be because of that laptop. The battery is swollen to the point the touchpad has popped out of the housing, and she still uses it. Her company sent a new one for her, but she just doesn't want to migrate to the other computer. It's quite literally scary to look at.
@mike
Oh gosh!
@tripplehelix Unfortunately it's her work computer, not something we own, or I'd have thrown it down a flight of stairs (accidentally of course) already. It honestly freaks me out every time I see it. I don't want it in my house.
@mike @tripplehelix @s31bz I've got to side with Tom here - lithium batteries are super volatile and the swelling is literally the gases inside that have expanded. It's just a matter of time before the casing can't hold that expansion any further and it explodes. No job is worth that risk!
@golemwire It is an HP.
