Only took 9 years, but I finally properly installed my payphone in my garage.

This is a Western Electric 1D2, the last of the "dumb" payphones of the 80s/90s. I did a video about it back in 2015, shortly after I bought it.

(It's 45 minutes but is actually pretty good! I rewatched it recently with the expectation of "Wait, I made a 45 minute off-the-cuff video? This is going to be a rambling mess.", but was pleasantly surprised.)

I have a home Asterisk setup, and it's nearly 20 years old. It has a ton of vestigial configurations, including SIP and dialplan integrations with two former employers (one of which has been defunct for nearly 15 years).

These days it only has a single SIP provider (voip.ms), and serves two ATA adapters injecting the home POTS and payphone, both of which I was working on this weekend. I also have some SIP phones in storage, including a few SPA504Gs.

@foo that looks so cool!!!
