@fosstodon I was having a nice time sitting here, but sorry, you do not get to own my #brand image.
Your new rules about "federated accounts"
https://hub.fosstodon.org/coc/#federated-accounts
turn *you* into co-owners of my image not just on #Fosstodon, but everywhere. I never agreed to that, and now I'm threatened with a ban from my primary instance for experimenting with my own image elsewhere.
Sorry, I will not take that risk: I'm signing out.
I'll remain here until I find another instance or you remove the rule.
@dcz@fosstodon.org @fosstodon@fosstodon.org Never trust anyone who pushes for a CoC, it is almost always an attempt to control you.
@tyil @fosstodon I have CoCs in all my projects that receive contributions. I think they are useful.
I'm happy to abide by them, too. They help make the instance what it is, and it is enjoyable.
But that one rule is crossing the line for me.
@dcz@fosstodon.org @fosstodon@fosstodon.org They are certainly useful if you wish to have control over people. I prefer people who don't try to enforce their political agenda over others, especially not people who're just trying to help them out.
