Shoutout to Amazon for automatically updating my Kindle version of "Leviathan Wakes" -- which I purchased before the Expanse was a TV series -- to "Leviathan Wakes: Book 1 of the Expanse (Now a Prime Original series)"
😒

That bullshit ends TODAY.
#Kobo

My first Kobo (Libra Colour) is out for delivery, and I'm ready to strip that Kindle DRM and leave Amazon behind, woot!

*Link to the DeDRM plugin if anyone needs it: github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools/r)

I feel like something is missing from the sleep screen on my Kobo…

Ads. Ads are missing 💙

This is neat! A stats screen for the book you're currently reading, and progress stats for your entire library. (It's showing ~4 hours because I've only had my Kobo for a couple of days).

This is how fast the Kobo Libra Colour wakes from sleep. Lightning fast compared to Kindle.

#Kobo vs #Kindle

Still discovering neat things about my #Kobo, like this in-book reading progress you can pull up.

I do love this thing.

@killyourfm I really want one, and I keep trying to convince myself it’s worth the upgrade over my ancient paperwhite so I finally make the purchase.

@bcon @killyourfm if you’re on an ancient paperwhite it’s worth it for your health. No, really. If you read in the evening or at night and use the paperwhite’s light you’re getting blue light which disrupts melatonin which is needed for good sleep. The kobo (and newer Kindles to be fair) can adjust the colour of the light to red orange hues which is far kinder to you eyes and you sleep cycles 😊

@wiredfire @bcon AND you can set it to adjust gradually throughout the evening based on your normal bedtime :D

@killyourfm @bcon it truly ia a thing of beauty. I also appreciate being able to slide my finger up or down the edge of the page to adjust the brighteness on the fly as well.

@wiredfire @killyourfm I hadn’t even considered the blue light. Great point!
