I'll defer upgrading my Linux Mint box for the next one or two major releases, as I'm enjoying the stability of the system and the smooth experience it enables.

@amoroso a few years ago, we connected a 2009 HP laptop to the TV and I installed Linux Mint on it. It is slow, but still powerful enough to let us watch movies on Netflix. We are still very happy about it.
@davbucci A good use of an old machine.
@amoroso we are very happy of it indeed! The only issue is that it doesn’t send audio over the HDMI connection, but it’s not a problem as we use the main HiFi that has much nicer sound quality than the TV. I was impressed by how flawlessly went the installation and the setup of Linux Mint on this machine.
@amoroso Mint is the main distro I use-- and the latest version has been stable for me.
@Jettisoned Glad you're enjoying Mint's stability too.
@amoroso I don't think I would defer upgrading a distro like Linux Mint. It is already based on a long-term support version of Ubuntu or Debian (Mint has both). The latest version will have improvements aimed at stability and security. I think upgrading will provide a net gain in those areas.
