Is there a way on to not display the self-boosts of accounts you follow? The chance I’ve seen your post is big, so I don’t need to see it again 12 hours later. What’s the deal with boosting your own toots anyway? It’s weird.

I know you can hide an account’s boosts all together, but I only want to hide the self boosts.

@Htbaa I think it’s meant to reach folks in other time zones (in the absence of an algorithm).

@simeon people can always scroll down through their feed. It’s what I do. I think the self boosting is annoying as hell 😄.

@Htbaa I don’t mind it too much but see how it can be annoying if it happens a lot.

@Htbaa I don't think there's a way to stop that one. I'm not a big fan of it either, and I do it super rarely. Mine are only gonna be like, right before a poll ends to try and get one or two more votes. Or when I spot a weird post from a LONG time ago that still applies. Or like, the Kickstarter one for a friend I posted yesterday - in like 20 days or when it's close to ending, might boost that. But that's it. The shameless self promoting is a bit much. Hell, sometimes I do a blog post and I don't even post about it here. Can you imagine?! 😂

@jake4480 haha I agree those can be valid reasons. But boosting your toot so your followers get to see it AGAIN because they didn’t scroll through their feed to catch up… Ugh, just go back to Xitter or any other crappy algorithm based social media.

But maybe I should start unfollowing those who do or at least disable their boosts entirely 😋.

@Htbaa ha! Yeah, disabling boosts can probably help. I do that for some folks. I boost a bunch too but I try to be semi picky about what I boost. Because too much can be feed destroying, I know. But some people boost like, EVERYTHING? That's a bit odd, and too much 😂

@Htbaa some people have a lot of followers across a WIDE variety of time zones, so some people boost their own posts so all of their followers have a chance to see it when they're online.

@BeAware so? Those users can just scroll through their feed like everyone else?
