Given all the issues with power connectors melting with no acknowledgement from Nvidia, really low supplies for the 50-series launch, and exorbitant pricing by Nvidia, all because AI makes them a lot more money, I have a question for readers:
What would your reaction be if Nvidia stops producing gaming GPUs entirely?
@Conan_Kudo@fosstodon.org@nirbheek I would be somewhat surprised. The gaming GPUs function as the developer pipeline for AI/ML workloads, and have been doing so since the "deep learning" craze that started when they launched CUDA 15 years ago.
It's more likely that they'll price themselves out of the market for more and more people, though.
